Privacy Policy

The short version. Selar takes your payment and your card details — we never see them. We receive your name, email and phone number so we can deliver the course you bought. Google Analytics and the Meta pixel measure how people reach our pages. We do not sell your data. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete it, at any time.

1. Who we are

SounDisruptr Academy is operated by Sound Disruptor Limited ("SounDisruptr", "we", "us"), based in Lagos, Nigeria. This policy covers every course sold through academy.soundisruptr.com — currently the Viral Music Promotion Course, the TikTok Virality Course and The Middleman Method, and any course added later.

2. What we collect

Payment information. When you buy a course, your name, email, phone number and payment details are collected by Selar, our payment processor — not by us directly. We never see or store your card details. Selar passes us your name, email and phone number so we can deliver the course and add you to its community where it has one.
Community information. Where a course includes a WhatsApp community, your phone number and profile photo become visible to every other member of that group, exactly as in any WhatsApp group.
Website analytics. Our pages use Google Analytics 4 and, on the course sales pages, the Meta (Facebook) pixel. These record page views, referring source, approximate location and device type, and set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. Purchase confirmation itself is recorded on Selar's own checkout and thank-you pages.
Anything you send us. If you message our WhatsApp support line, we keep that conversation so we can help you and improve how we answer future students.

3. Why we use it

We use your information to confirm your payment, deliver the course you bought, add you to the correct community, send you updates about that course, answer your questions, and understand which marketing brings people to the site. We do not sell your personal information.

For visitors in the UK or EU: our lawful basis is performance of a contract for anything needed to deliver a course you paid for; consent for analytics and advertising cookies; and legitimate interests for keeping our own business and security records.

4. Who else processes it

We share data only with the services needed to run the Academy: Selar (payments and course delivery), Google (analytics), Meta (advertising measurement on the course pages), and WhatsApp (support and communities). Each is a separate company operating under its own privacy policy, which you should also read. We are not responsible for how they handle data once it reaches them.

5. Cookies and tracking

Analytics and advertising cookies are only set where you have consented to them. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies for this site in your browser, or by using your browser's own tracking controls. Essential cookies needed to make the site work are always set.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enrollment and payment records for as long as you have access to the course you bought, and for a further seven years after that for tax and accounting purposes, which is what Nigerian record-keeping practice requires. Support conversations are kept for up to two years. Analytics data is retained on Google's default schedule of fourteen months.

7. Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, ask us to stop using it for marketing, or object to how we are using it. We answer these requests within 30 days.

To make a request, email support@soundisruptr.com from the address you used to buy, or message us on WhatsApp. Email is the better route if you would rather not share a phone number.

You can also leave any course's WhatsApp community at any time, which stops other members seeing your number in that group going forward, though it does not remove messages already sent.

8. International transfers

We are based in Nigeria. Some of our processors — Google, Meta and WhatsApp — store and process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we transfer data out of the UK or EU we rely on the standard contractual clauses those providers publish.

9. Children

SounDisruptr Academy courses are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our courses or tools change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
